Questions
Questions, answered
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, during open hours. We see walk-ins between booked visits, so the wait changes with the day. Call first and we'll tell you how the schedule looks. We can't promise a visit, and we'll say so honestly if you need to come back.
Do you take my insurance?
We're in network with many PPO plans and out of network with the rest. The How fees work page explains each case. Call with your card and we'll check what your plan says before treatment.
What if I don't have insurance?
You pay at the visit, and you'll have the fee in writing before we start. Ask for a written estimate when you schedule or when you walk in.
Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
The How fees work page answers this for every plan we know about, in one place.
Will it hurt?
Most people feel pressure, not pain. We numb the area when it's needed, you can ask for a break at any time, and we stop whenever you ask.
How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?
The dentist decides after looking at your mouth, not from a fixed calendar. We take X-rays only when we need to see something the exam can't show.
What is a deep cleaning?
A cleaning that reaches below the gum line, for gums that have pulled away from the teeth. The dentist shows you why it's suggested, and it can take more than one visit.
Do you see children?
We see children and teens for routine care and for problems that need a visit. If your child needs a dentist who treats only children, we'll tell you and point you to one.
What counts as a dental emergency, and what do I do first?
A broken or knocked-out tooth, a toothache that won't ease, a lost crown or a swelling. Call us. If swelling affects your breathing or swallowing, call 911 or go to an emergency room first. The Dental emergencies page has the steps.
Do you offer sedation?
We use numbing medicine and no other sedation. If visits make you anxious, tell us when you call. We can go slowly, explain each step and take breaks.
Can I get a written estimate before treatment?
Yes. You get one before any treatment, including after a walk-in exam. It lists each step and its fee.
Which languages do you speak?
We see patients in English. You're welcome to bring someone to interpret, and it helps if you tell us when you call so we can plan the time.
How do I cancel or change a visit?
Call or text the office line before your time. A walk-in has nothing to cancel.
Something we didn't answer?
Call the office line during open hours and ask.
